
Car Jacking is an prime example of an Ambush and it usually includes a weapon.

The key to the defense in each of these scenes is turning towards the threat and getting off the line when possible.
There are common elements to any gun defense:
Move off the line of attack. Do not stay in front of the muzzle of the weapon. Getting off the line may only be a pivot or slide.
Block or Intercept inside the muzzle. Keep it pointed away from you. Ideally get it pointed at him.
Maintain Control of Gun Arm/Hand. Which may only be a quick touch, you may not have a grip on it.
Apply punishment as soon as possible.
Keep your eye on him.
Strike or kick or lock with your whole body.
Be sure to damage him so he cannot get up. Remember he was trying to kill you.
Look at all the attack situations below and pick out the elements listed above.

Be aware that gun disarms are dangerous and can only be applied if at all, when the attacker is close to you.
