Defenses for High Kicks
We do not recommend the use of these kicks for self defense. They may cause loss of balance,
they are slower to the face/head, you will slip on ice, etc, and it takes more skill to kick high.

Since there are any number of people who do kick this way, we have provided two examples for learning to defend against these kicks makes good sense.
We have included a spinning kick where the defense involves moving forward.

These defenses all use some combination of Forward Engagement
Defender moves off the line to the inside of the kick, blocking and catching attacker's leg, then kicking out the remaining leg.

Spinning Kick

Defender moves in , catches leg, and delivers a Knee to the exposed groin
